Forte Copacabana guns and Rio
One of the turreted coastal artillary gun mounts of Forte Copacabana points toward the setting sun and the Copacabana beach. During the revolt of 1922, the fort did not fire on the city but instead used the roar of the cannon, firing seaward, as a signal to start the rebellion. 8th International Conference in Nursing Informatics, Rio de Janeiro, June 2003 20030622 1/500 sec at f / 8.0 Canon PowerShot S300 © Kathleen G.
