Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. This is the only International Airport located below sea level, a fact that must have some kind of consequence for airliner altimeters. Schiphol also seems to have an abundance of gendarmes, special police in military uniforms armed with automatic weapons. The Netherlands are "a small country," and visitors are repeatedly told that even during a short layover you can hop a train for a trip into Amsterdam.
